In the past few years, the human and computer interfacing was through visual and sound. Now as time passed on, humans could communicate with the computer through the sense of touch. Just imagine that if humans could interact with computer, why cant computer respond back to humans through touch or feel?

This concept lead us to the term ‘HAPTIC INTERFACE’. With this breakthrough, we would have the ability to feel the object, get a sense of its shape, its temperature, feels its weight and surface texture F95zone .

The haptic intefacing lead to the advanced simulation. Haptic feedback devices and supporting software permit users to feel and manipulate three dimensional virtual objects. As a result, we create an artificial environment with the help pf computers and software and presented to the user in such a way that it appears and feels like a real environment.

Haptic interfacing would make the digital models to be probed and felt by the users and more specifically in a medical world by the medical students. These simulations would reduce the cost and provide the trainees the experience with a great variety of pathologies. These simulations help the trainees in repeating the surgical procedures over and over again without the need for a cadaver. These advancements in Haptic interfacing Lead to the branching of a variety of biomedical applications.

The virtual reality in surgery lead to Surgical planning, Surgical rehearsal, Telemedicine and Tele surgery. The new concept of Tele surgery would make the presence of highly specialized surgeons available to any part of the world. This would not only save time but would save the lives of millions of people. With this achievement, we would be opening a new chapter in human-computer interfacing.

In tele surgery, the surgeon and the patient would be in two different corners of the world but still the surgery can be carried out with the advancement in haptic interfacing. Here the surgeon will be operating over a maneuver, where the surgeons could feel and see the patient realistically. A robot would be operating the patient and the corresponding feedback would be received through the haptic device by the surgeon and the surgery could be carried out.
